The Center for Promise
By the Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development CERES Institute for Children and Youth
The Center for Promise is the applied research institute of America’s Promise Alliance, housed at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Its mission is to develop a deep understanding of the conditions necessary for young people in the United States to succeed in school and life. The Center’s unique value as a research institute is its dedication to youth voice, whether by highlighting the voices and views of young people or through working with youth to develop and implement research methods to study the issues affecting their lives.
Since 2015, the Center for Promise has been a partnership between Boston University and America’s Promise Alliance. Its current work supports the campaigns and strategic initiatives of America’s Promise and focuses on topics related to positive youth development. The Center’s team is led by Sean Flanagan, Senior Director for Research & Evaluation at America’s Promise Alliance.
